STEP INSIDE THE ARTISTS' STUDIO!
Dear art lovers, art enthusiasts, collectors, dealers and the public.
Join us for the HIGH LINE OPEN STUDIOS 2016 Armory Show Weekend and step inside the Artist's Studio, March 5-6, 2016, 12-6 p.m.
High Line Open Studios presents its annual Artists’ Open Studios in West Chelsea Arts district in conjunction with the Armory Show Saturday and Sunday, March 5 -6, 2016 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m.
The Armory Show, March 3-6, 2016 is the largest contemporary art fair in the world and is located at Pier 92 & 94, just north of the West Chelsea Arts district.
During the High Line Open Studios event, more than 40 artists in the iconic West Chelsea Arts district will open their studios to the public for a weekend free, self-guided art tour and to purchase work direct from the artists.
Presented by the High Line Open Studios, the artists open studios provides the rare opportunity for the public to meet a multitude of artists, to learn about their works, styles and mediums, and to see first-hand those creative spaces generally open exclusively by appointment.
The self-guided tour is an open format that has proven to be an ideal way to encourage dialogue between artists and enthusiasts allowing visitors to gain first hand knowledge about the creative process. It has an invaluable value since it gives collectors and dealers the opportunity to purchase works directly from the artists’ studio inventory and discover new talent before it makes its way to the gallery walls.
This is a great opportunity to discover talents and purchase artwork directly from the artist.
The self guided tour begins at the West Chelsea Arts Building on West 26th Street. Pick up the MAP and event information in the lobbies at 508 and 516 West 26th St. and begin your artists' studio tour.
You can also pick up the MAP at the WestBeth Artists building at 55 Bethune St. and start your art tour there and take the High Line Park to the West Chelsea Art district, (26th Street High Line exit), to visit other opens studios.
